First Day on Campus

Today was our first day on campus! Honestly, I was a little nervous to go meet students today. I never know how people will receive what we are offering, but know with confidence that I am offering the best gift ever - Jesus Christ.

We set up a booth outside the campus union and spent two hours handing out spiritual interest surveys. We are giving away ten $20. gift cards to Starbucks if students are willing to answer four questions about their spirituality. We had 118 students fill our surveys today and 80 of them were women! We have our work cut out for us! We met many international students, which I was excited about:)

We hope to start up Bible discussion groups next week on Monday and Thursday nights. Would you pray that God would bring women to my discussion group? Please pray that they would be seeking to know more about who Jesus Christ is with a sincere heart. Thanks!

Erin and I actually know each other from our Penn State days. We were in school at the same time, but never knew each other well. She is now married and working part-time with the Navigators. Her husband, Kevin, is in the Navy and is currently out to sea and we can't wait to meet him.

Genna and Sarah are our two EDGE women at the University of Washington. We are living together in the Cliff House. I'll have the opportunity to help them in their first year of ministry and labor with them on campus.

My new home!

After being on the road for 4 days, I arrived to my new home on September 10th. My friend from Church, Rachel, took some vacation days and drove with me as far as Paul, Idaho. I spent two days processing at a hotel near Paul, ID. I then connected with two of my teammates, Joe and T.J. that were driving from Kansas to Seattle.

For the past week and a half I have been working hard on getting settled. I've made several trips to Target and Home Depot. I live in a neighborhood that is just a 10 minute walk from campus and within walking distance of a grocery store, post office, bank, pharmacy, etc. I love it!

As you can see, it is very green in Seattle, I have been so refreshed by the beauty of the environment here. Just minutes from my house there is a HUGE park that has running/walking trails that I've been running on almost every day! It's absolutely beautiful and feel so blessed to live here.

I'm starting a BLOG! I'm not so great at technology stuff, but excited to have another avenue to share what God is doing and prayer requests.
